Dislocated Worker Homepage
Minnesota Job Partners is honored to be selected to offer our comprehensive services of the Dislocated Worker Program in order to help you prepare for new employment. Please review a summary of the program benefits so that you are aware of the opportunities that are available to you.
The Dislocated Worker Program is a State-funded grant, so there is no cost to you. We strongly recommend that you enroll in this valuable program as soon as possible.
THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS:
We offer enrollment sessions on the 2nd Thursday of each month throughout 2011 from 11:00 – 12:00 in the Multi-purpose room on-site at Lockheed Martin for those still employed. Please send Lisa Thomas an e-mail requesting to be registered in a session. Her e-mail is lisa.thomas@c-m-s.org
Please e-mail Lisa Thomas to find out when the next off-site enrollment session will occur and to register for it, if you are already separated from Lockheed Martin. Her e-mail is lisa.thomas@c-m-s.org
The intake session is the first step to enrollment. Intake sessions will take approximately 1 hour. In order to enroll, please bring the following documents with you:
- A valid state driver’s license or a state ID card
- Social Security card or a copy of your W2 with your social security number on it. If you are not a US citizen, bring your work visa.
AND
- Citizenship or Right to Work documentation. One document is needed. These documents include your birth certificate, US passport, other registration card, Native American Tribal document, public assistance or food stamp records, Alien registration card indicating Right to Work, Naturalization Certificate, foreign passport stamped with eligible to work, hospital birth record, or Department of Corrections record indicating citizenship.
- Proof of Lay-off and/or separation letter.
If you do not have ALL of the required documentation, still come to an enrollment session. You will need to turn in the documents, however, before you can sign up to meet with a counselor.
Individualized Employment Session (IEP): The second and last step to enrollment is to meet with a Career Counselor on another day AFTER the intake session to develop your Individualized Employment Plan (IEP). You may meet with your counselor at our offices in St. Paul (Bandana Square area) or in Plymouth (Hwy 169 and Rockford Road area). Please let Lisa know your preference when you RSVP for the intake session.
Onsite IEP meetings will be held at Lockheed Martin in the EAP office located behind the guard station at the south entrance on Wednesdays. More IEP meetings will be held on Mondays – Fridays at the MN Job Partners offices in Yankee Square Business Plaza, 3410 Federal Drive, #102, Eagan, MN 55121.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Lisa Thomas at lisa.thomas@c-m-s.org
