Welcome to the
Dislocated Workers Program
Minnesota Job Partners has been selected by a committee of your colleagues to provide Dislocated Worker Program services to help you prepare for new employment. Please review a summary of the program benefits so that you are aware of the opportunities available to you.
This program is separate from and in addition to any services you are receiving or have received from Right Management. You can take advantage of both resources concurrently. Where the Right Management services are available in the short term, this program will be in effect until March 31, 2010.
In order to enroll in the program, you will need to attend an Orientation/Registration session, then schedule a time to meetin with a career counselor. Please remember to stay in touch with your counselor at least once per month to let them know of your progress. And when you find your next job, please call to let your counselor know of your success!
Orientation and Registration Sessions
This is the first of two steps in becoming enrolled in the program.
It includes an orientation to the program services and completing the paperwork for eligibility.
When you attend the Registration/Enrollment session, there are several things to bring:
1) A valid MN drivers license or MN ID card, and
2) Your Social Security card, or W-2 form with your SSN on it
3) Your Birth Cerfiticate, or US Passport, or Alien Registration Card, or Hospital Birth Record
4) Your Target Layoff Letter
INTAKE SESSIONS: The intake sessions will be held in several different locations. You need to sign-up for a session, by calling 763-807-4235 or e-mailing the Job Partners Manager, Client Delivery, Lisa C. Thomas, at lisat@employersinc.com .
These intake sessions will take approximately 1 ½ hours. In order to enroll, please bring the following documents with you:
1. A valid MN driver’s license or a MN ID card
2. Social Security card or a copy of your W2 with your social security number on it. If you are not a US citizen, bring your work visa.
AND
3. Citizenship or Right to Work documentation. One document is needed. These documents include your birth certificate, US passport, other registration card, Native American Tribal document, public assistance or food stamp records, Alien registration card indicating Right to Work, Naturalization Certificate, foreign passport stamped with eligible to work, hospital birth record, or Department of Corrections record indicating citizenship.
Individualized Employment Session (IEP):
The second and last step to enrollment is to meet with your Career Counselor AFTER the intake session to develop your Individualized Employment Plan (IEP). There will be sign up sheets at the Intake Session to select a time with a counselor.
Counselor Meetings
This face to face meeting with your counselor is step two in the enrollment process. During this session you and your counselor will begin to create an Individual Employment Plan (IEP). This plan will guide you to assess your needs, set goals, identify needed training, and select job search strategies that will result in attaining your next job.
