PREPARING FOR A REGISTRATION SESSION
Please bring the following to your session:
▪ Layoff Letter ▪ Driver’s License or State-issued photo ID ▪ Social Security Card/W2 ▪ DD214 (if veteran)
If you don’t have all of these items on hand, don’t worry! You can bring them to your first meeting with your counselor, but we need them prior to completing your enrollment (state requirement).
A Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) is required for all participants with less than a Bachelor’s Degree who wish to participate in any training. An interest assessment is required for all participants who wish to take any training regardless of grade level.
MNSURE NAVIGATION ASSISTANCE
Workers at Alorica will lose their health coverage at the end of March. If you’re interested in getting new insurance, you can enroll by phone with the help of a MNsure navigator. Depending upon your income, you may be eligible for low-cost or no-cost options.
To avoid loss of coverage, it’s important to make an appointment before March 31.

Once you have attended a registration session, provided all required documentation, and met with your counselor, you are officially enrolled and can begin taking advantage of all of the benefits our program has to offer.

A recruiter has contacted us interested in meeting with Alorica clients to fill call center positions in Woodbury. We are currently looking into arranging a date and time for the recruiter to meet with former Alorica employees.
The position is not cold calling potential customers, but following up to interest inquiries
They have full-time, benefited positions (see below). New hires will begin April 13 with three weeks of paid training.
Starting hourly rate of $16 goes to $17 an hour in the first year of employment.

Enrollment: The First Step
Participation in our program begins with attending a registration session. These sessions are facilitated by friendly, experienced staff who will begin by explaining the Dislocated Worker Program to you. Next, you will complete your application, with the facilitator walking you through the paperwork & answering any questions you may have.
After attending an enrollment session, you will be contacted by your counselor to arrange a one-on-one session at our offices. In this meeting with your counselor, you will establish a relationship and share your story. This meeting is all about YOU: your education, your work history, your family, health, finances - you want to give your counselor your full history so they can best help you determine a plan to achieve your goals. At the completion of this meeting, you are enrolled & can start taking advantage of our program's benefits!
After meeting with your counselor, you will start working on your action steps - the items in your individual employment plan (IEP) that require your attention. Training, résumé assistance, workshops, interview preparation, and financial support are just a few features we can assist you with. You and your counselor will monitor your progress toward reaching your goals, and adjust your IEP as necessary.

The Minnesota Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program is currently filling 20 open Customer Service Representative positions. These positions will work in our in-bound call center in downtown St. Paul.
Do you want to leave work every day feeling like you made a difference? Come join our team. We are a state government program that helps Minnesotans overcome the many challenges associated with losing a job. Currently we provide critical support for people dealing with the COVID19 crisis.
Typical responsibilities for these positions include helping people apply for benefits and answering their questions. You will not be selling anything. We will provide you both formal and on the job training.
The estimated start date for these positions is April 29, 2020. The standard work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. All work will be done on site at our headquarters in St Paul, MN. These are not telework positions. Social distancing and disinfecting is standard practice to maintain the safety of our staff.
These positions are temporary unclassified positions expected to last 6 months to 1 year.
Be comfortable answering inbound phone calls for multiple hours per day
Consistently attend work for all scheduled shifts
Listen attentively to customer questions and identify possible issues
Communicate information and potential resolutions with clarity, respect, and empathy
Maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenging calls or circumstances
Consistently adhere to established policies, business processes, scheduled break times, and other procedures (including escalating calls to other agents when appropriate)
