Welcome Gannett Publishing Participants

We want to extend a warm welcome to those who will be affected by the layoffs at Gannett Publishing.  Minnesota Job Partners has been selected by your colleagues to provide Dislocated Worker Program services to you. This is a free program for individuals who have been laid off through no fault of their own. The goal of the program is to help you get a job as soon as possible.

MN Job Partners has created this page to introduce ourselves and share important information with you during the beginning phase of the Dislocated Worker Program grant. All of us here at MJP look forward to working with you through this transition. Our LinkedIn and Facebook pages offer additional avenues for you to receive up-to-date information from our agency. MJP also recently created a Pinterest account to share helpful job search articles with our participants.

Whether you are looking to stay in the same career, or shift gears and reinvent yourself, we can help! The first step to enroll with us is to attend an enrollment session.  Our warm, professional staff members who facilitate registration sessions make the process as easy and informative as possible, detailing program benefits and answering your questions. They will walk you through the state-required paperwork and explain everything you need in order to complete your enrollment with us.

The second step to enrollment is meeting one on one with your vocational counselor. Your counselor will work with you every step of the way until you are re-employed. We call this first meeting the Individual Employment Plan (IEP) meeting. You will talk with your counselor about your work history, educational background, family, health, finances, and your goals for the future. You will determine an employment goal and action steps to reach that goal. When you leave your first meeting, you will have concrete steps to take - from research to résumé development to networking - to start you on the path to your next great job.
