Minneapolis Public Schools

We want to extend a warm welcome to those who have been affected by layoff from Minneapolis Public Schools. Job loss can be stressful when your future is uncertain. Minnesota Job Partners employs a team of experts who can help you navigate the job search process. We have created this webpage to share important, up-to-date information with you. We'll keep this page updated with information you need to know in the beginning phase of the grant. All of us here at MJP look forward to working with you through this transition. Our LinkedInFacebook, and Twitter  pages offer additional avenues for you to receive up-to-date information from our agency. MJP also posts job search information on Pinterest.

MN Job Partners has been selected by your colleagues to provide Dislocated Worker Program services to you. This is a free program for individuals who have been laid off through no fault of their own. The goal of the program is to help you land a job as soon as possible. We provide one-on-one career counseling, state funds for potential training, support funds (based on financial need) to help you out with emergency expenses, résumé development, job search workshops and more!

For more information, please email information@c-m-s.org or call (763) 253-9138. Teresa Day is the Enrollment Specialist for your group and can be reached at (651) 789-2982.

Attend an Enrollment Session - Step 1

Register to attend an enrollment session by clicking HERE. Select the  session that works for you, enter your information, and we will email a confirmation note to you with further instructions.

The enrollment session takes about 1 hour; we will walk you through the paperwork to enroll in the program, explain program benefits, and answer any questions you may have.

At the end of these sessions we will offer a Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), which is required for those who do not have a Bachelor's Degree. The TABE takes 1.5 hours.

Flexibility - the MJP Difference

Minnesota Job Partners is a small organization with a BIG reach. We have successfully worked with thousands of employees from major Minnesota companies like Medtronic, Boston Scientific, SuperValu, Target, and more. We have honed our delivery model to be as efficient as possible, maximizing our impact by employing résumé writers, employment development specialists, and workshop facilitators to give our counselors more time to spend with YOU. Our size allows us to be incredibly flexible; when our participants have a need we meet it - fast! On several occasions we have pulled together project-specific workshops on unique topics, in locations all over the state.

In addition to our special events, each month MN Job Partners also offers a range of workshops at our locations across the metro: Career Assessment, Job Search & Interviewing Skills, Résumé Development, LinkedIn Overview, Advanced LinkedIn, Internet Job Search, and Career Branding. We often hold special workshops on specific topics relevant to today's job search.
