Welcome Roundy's Selection & Planning Committee Members

We want to extend a warm welcome to those who have been affected by the closing of Roundy's stores.  Job loss can be stressful when your future is uncertain. Minnesota Job Partners employs a team of experts who can help you confidently step into your bright future.  We have created this webpage to demonstrate our eagerness to work with you, and our flexibility to provide service immediately.  Upon being selected as your provider of choice, you will find important, up-to-date information here to help you & your co-worker navigate the program. We'll keep this page updated with information you need to know in the beginning phase of the grant. All of us here at MJP look forward to working with you through this transition. Our LinkedIn and Facebook pages offer additional avenues for you to receive up-to-date information from our agency. MJP also recently created a Pinterest account to share helpful job search articles with our participants.

The First Step - Enrollment

Participation in our program begins with attending a registration session. We will hold sessions on dates, times, and locations convenient for you. These sessions are facilitated by friendly, experienced staff who will begin by explaining the Dislocated Worker Program to you. Next, you will complete the state-required paperwork, with the facilitator walking you through every form & answering any questions you may have.

After attending an enrollment session, you will be contacted by your counselor to arrange a one-on-one session at our office. In this meeting with your counselor, you will establish a relationship and share your story. This meeting is all about YOU: your education, your work history, your family, health, finances - you want to give your counselor your full history so they can best help you determine a plan to achieve your goals. At the completion of this meeting, you are enrolled & can start taking advantage of our program's benefits!

After meeting with your counselor, you will start working on your action steps - the items in your individual employment plan (IEP) that require your attention. Training, résumé assistance, workshops, interview preparation, and financial support are just a few features we can assist you with. You & your counselor will monitor your progress toward reaching your goals, and adjust your IEP as necessary.

Flexibility - the MJP Difference

Minnesota Job Partners is a small organization with a BIG reach. We have successfully worked with thousands of employees from major Minnesota companies like Medtronic, Boston Scientific, SuperValu, Target, and more. We have honed our delivery model to be as efficient as possible, maximizing our impact by employing résumé writers, employment development specialists, and workshop facilitators to give our counselors more time to spend with YOU. Our size allows us to be incredibly flexible; when our participants have a need we meet it - fast! On several occasions we have pulled together project-specific workshops on unique topics, in locations all over the state.

In addition to our special events, each month MN Job Partners also offers a range of workshops at our location in Minneapolis (close to the TCF Bank Stadium and the University of MN): Career Assessment, Job Search & Interviewing Skills, Résumé Development, LinkedIn Overview, Advanced LinkedIn, Internet Job Search, and Career Branding. We often hold special workshops on specific topics relevant to today's job search. Check the calendar to see what we're offering this month, and register today!
