Welcome Thomson Reuters Participants

We want to extend a warm welcome to those affected by the recent layoffs at Thomson Reuters. A grant has been set up to assist you during your transition into new employment. We will keep this page updated with information you need to know in the beginning phase of this grant. Our LinkedIn and Facebook pages offer additional avenues for you to receive up-to-date information, as well. We look forward to partnering with you!

Losing your job can be a challenging and stressful life event; MN Job Partners provides a program of important benefits to assist you during your transition. Whether you are looking to stay in the same career or shift gears and reinvent yourself, we can help! With résumé assistance, vocational counseling, valuable workshops, funds for training, and support services, we will help move you from layoff to job search to happily employed!  Read on for more details.

How To Enroll

The first step to enroll with us is to attend a registration session. At the registration session, participants will hear about the benefits available to them through the program, and will complete the state-required paperwork - the first step toward enrollment. Contact us today to sign up for a session near you! 763.253.9138 or dw.eligibility@c-m-s.org.

The following identifying documents are required for program participation:

  • Driver's License or State-issued photo ID AND

  • Social Security Card or W2 AND

  • Birth Certificate or Passport AND

  • DD214 (if veteran)

The second step to enrollment is meeting one on one with your vocational counselor. Your counselor will work with you every step of the way until you are re-employed. We call this first meeting the Individual Employment Plan (IEP) meeting. You will talk with your counselor about your work history, educational background, family, health, finances, and your goals for the future. You will determine an employment goal and action steps to reach that goal. When you leave your first meeting, you will have concrete steps to take - from research to résumé development to networking - to start you on the path to your next great job.

Upcoming Workshops Just For You!

We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming LinkedIn webinars with local networking ninja Catherine Byers Breet.  She will teach you how to turn an invite into a handshake, and so much more.  We are also in the beginning stages of planning an entrepreneurial workshop for those of you interested in making the move to consulting. Don't miss out - contact us for more information today!

Each month, MN Job Partners offers a range of workshops at our various locations: Career Assessment, Job Search & Interviewing Skills, Résumé Development, LinkedIn Overview, Advanced LinkedIn, Internet Job Search, and Career Branding.
